My book is "The boy at the top of the mountain" by John Boyne. The book is about a boy whose parents die, so he moves to Germany to live with his aunt. He ends up living in Hitler's House. At first, he had more pride in the French, but Hitler influences him and makes him believe Germany is the rightful ruler of the world. Eventually, he becomes a mini-Hitler and gets too powerful. Once the war is over, he is alone in the house. American soldiers come in and find him, and take him to a camp where he lives for more than two years until he is released. Afterwards, he gets multiple jobs, but ultimately moves back to his childhood home. I would recommend this book to a reader because it is very interesting and there are many parts that will keep you on the edge of your seat. A current day connection to World War II is how right now in the War in Syria, many civilians are getting killed for something they didn't cause. This relates to World War II because many Jews, Poles, Slavs, and others were killed even though they did not harm anyone.

Did the boy not realize how bad of a person Hitler was?

I really think that your book is interesting. How he got to be in Hitler's house is very cool.

That seems very intriguing and interesting. One question I do have is does the boy from your book relate to any person or people in the Syrian conflict?

Did the boy ever try to escape? Very good connection to modern times.
